Senco PC1010 Air Compressor Review
Senco PC1010 Portable Air Compressor Review
The Senco PC1010 air compressor is compact, lightweight, portable, and super quiet. It has a 1 HP compressor motor that can easily handle light to medium duty jobs. It is designed for finish and trim work but can handle other jobs just as well.
Maybe you haven’t heard of Senco before but they are semi well known on the construction side for making high quality pneumatic products. I believe my own portable air compressor is a small industrial Senco, of course I’ve made some modifications.
They make reliable products so that both professionals and remodelers can perform in a wide variety of renovation, construction, and industry work.
According to their site, Senco builds their tools with superior quality and they are used in a variety of industries and trades like home construction and remodeling, cabinet, trim, and finish work, as well as manufactured housing and industrial packaging.
I won my Senco air compressor in a raffle at work, oh about 12 years ago, and it is still going strong. I have used it for trim and cabinet work as well as bigger woodworking projects. I also used it to throw up a gazillion fence boards no problem.
Find out if this portable, oil free air compressor from Senco will handle what you need it to and get your job done.

Probably one of the best features, besides its portability, about the Senco PC1010 air compressor is its pump up and recovery times.
With the tank full, you should be able to get 20-44 drives per minutes (how many nails/brads you can shoot.) But this compressor from Senco has fairly decent pump up and recovery times. From fully empty to full takes about 2 minutes, from 90 psi to 120 psi about 30 seconds.
It comes with an adjustable regulator which lets you dial in the delivery pressure depending on your project, materials, whatever. Keep in mind though that this compressor is probably more designed for start and stop work like brads and nails rather than continuously running pneumatic equipment like a grinder.
It can deliver up to 125 psi maximum pressure and at 90 psi it delivers .7 cfm. I think I am the only one to find that online! Ha.
It has a 1 gallon capacity storage tank for a little back up reservoir of air. Plus you add in your hose length you get a little bit o’ extra air juice.
The Senco PC1010 uses the same 110V electricity you’ve got running through your house and garage. Got some work to do inside? Plug it in. Outside? Use an extension cord (rather than a longer air hose.)
The motor is an induction style and is rated at 1 HP, peak. It runs at about .5 HP when going full blast. Decent.

What comes with the Senco PC1010 is: the compressor, a pressure regulator, pressure gauges, a 1/4″ quick disconnect, and an air filter.
That is it. Unlike some other compressors, there aren’t any “working” accessories for this compressor. It doesn’t come with a hose or a tire filling tool so that is a drawback.
The Senco PC1010 Portable air compressor is fairly lightweight at about 20 lbs. This, along with the handle, make it extremely portable. You can have it in your garage, or your kitchen for cabinet trim. Use it in your yard for planters or you can take it up into the attic.
Senco was able to pack a pretty powerful compressor onto a small frame with fairly tiny dimensions (for an air compressor) as mentioned in the specs – 13″ X 14″ x 10″. It can fit into tight spaces like crawl spaces and the cushioned handle just makes it more comfortable getting it there. The small size also means less space is taken up in your garage, shop, or closet.
196 reviews, average rating of 4.5. This is the #4 best selling air compressor online. People seem to really love and appreciate the portability as well as the very low noise level. Several reviews included stuff like: well made and well built, or lightweight and durable.
Quiet and quick is how people were describing the Senco PC1010 air compressor.
“This is a light-weight dynamo; Use it for light-duty jobs and you’ll be pleased. Great to fill-up tires, too. Not too noisy….(read more here: Senco PC1010 Air Compressor Review)”
“I just love this super little compressor!!! This thing rocks, I can have it running in the house with a baby sleeping in the next room and not wake the little rug rat. It keeps up with my Grex air brush without staying on the whole time like the compressor I had before….(read more here: Senco PC1010 Air Compressor Review)”

Pros & Cons
Low, low noise level – since it’s not a pancake style, the Senco PC1010 Air Compressor only produces 26dB of noise which is between a whisper and ambient noise. That is crazy. I’d have to hear it to actually believe it. Quit worrying about disturbing neighbors or waking someone while working.
Use it safely inside – the feet of the Senco PC1010 are rubber covered. This means less noise and vibration. It won’t scratch your hardwood floors, so go ahead and bring it inside. Less vibration means no walking of the compressor and a longer life.
Induction motor and the compressor is oil free. You can get that oil changing and maintenance garbage outta here! No more worrying about clean up or disposal either. Just work.
No break in procedure or time requirement,
And the Senco PC1010 compressor comes with the Senco 1 year warranty.
There aren’t too many cons associated with the compressor. If I had to come up with a few they would be:
It comes with no accessories. Yeah, you can easily find an accessory kit online, probably even one that is designed for the Senco PC1010 compressor at a low price. But should you have to? I mean a person can’t use the compressor without a hose right? You can find one though for a few dollars more (like $10-20.)
Small reservoir tank. Since this compressor was built differently than a pancake style, it doesn’t need the larger tank. It won’t be able to run continuously but it will handle like 30 drives per minute – brads, staples, some nails.
One question I kept seeing pop up was the delivery rate of the compressor, no one seemed to know what it was for the Senco PC1010 air compressor. Guess who does though? Me. And now you.
After downloading the manual from the Senco site I finally found it. The PC1010 compressor can deliver air at a rate of .7 cfm at 90 psi.

The Senco PC1010 air compressor gets my stamp of approval. Why?
3 reasons – because of the low cost, the portability of the compressor, and the noise level. It is around $100 which is cheaper than most quality air compressors, it only weighs around 20 lbs, and makes a bit more noise than a whisper.
I would have 2 drawbacks with the Senco PC1010 and they would be the small air reservoir and no accessory kit. It all depends on what you want to do and what you want to get out of your air compressor. I think this is a great deal beceause you can carry it anywhere, use it anywhere, and do quite a bit with it.
